Meet Starlord — A Little Superhero With a Big Heart

When Starlord came to Indiana HRS as part of a confiscation, he needed extensive veterinary care. And yet, through it all, Starlord has shown us something truly remarkable: He has an incredible will to live! This boy has fought so hard to get where he is today. We are thrilled to say that Starlord is ready for his next chapter!

Now that Starlord is feeling better, we're finally getting the opportunity to discover the big personality underneath all that trauma.

He's a little slow to trust and can sometimes be a bit grouchy. But honestly? Who could blame him? So much of what he has experienced happened during the first six months of his life. He's only just beginning to learn what life feels like when you're not constantly uncomfortable or in pain.

Now he deserves the chance to learn that life doesn't have to be about fighting anymore.

His future can be about soft blankets, delicious greens, gentle attention, safe spaces, and people who will give him the time he needs to trust them. He deserves to be comfortable. He deserves to feel safe. And most of all, he deserves to be loved and thoroughly spoiled.

Starlord may need a little patience while he learns that humans can be kind and that he doesn't always have to be on guard. But we're excited to see the personality that emerges as he continues to heal and gain confidence.

He's already survived the hard part. Now we're looking for someone who will help him discover how wonderful the rest of his life can be.
