Alice is bonded to her husbun Ninja. Ninja was adopted then bonded to Alice and they were returned to rescue in 2017. She has a strong bond with Ninja. She's friendly but cautious. We are still getting to know Alice so stay tuned for updates. She and Ninja will be adopted together and remain together. Ninja has some minor health concerns, so we are assessing those before they are available for adoption.

If you are interested in all the joys of a bonded pair and have prior rabbit experience with the openness of adopting a pair where the husbun may have minor health concerns, please complete an adoption questionnaire! We'd love to arrange the perfect forever home for this sweet, heart-thieving couple!

Update: Alley developed a retrobulbar abscess due to an infected tooth root. Please keep our girl in your thoughts as we work through treatment.

Alley was rescued from life on the lam by Indiana HRS volunteers. Alley loves to be petted and begs for attention anytime you walk past her pen. Alley is a little possessive in her cage and will try to nip if she is startled while you are working in her pen, or if she thinks you are messing with her stuff too much. Her foster family is working with her on her behavior and has seen improvement, but she would be more suitable for an adopter with rabbit experience and older children.

Bunny Sanders was part of the February/March 2017 dump of rabbits to fend for themselves in a local city park. He came into rescue shortly thereafter due to some health concerns. He was treated and subsequently neutered. He is thought to be an older bun but is in good health at the moment. He is a sweet bunny who's learning to trust humans again. Prior bunny experience would be preferred to help Bunny Sanders be set up for success.

Can you give him a loving home where he can just be a bunny and show you all the love he has to give?

Buster is one lucky bunny! His mom was caught at large in a park, he was born 3 weeks later.

Buster is a very people focused rabbit who loves to be petted. He likes to be petted so much, he will stop what he is doing :). Buster is bonded to his brother, Rascal.

Buster's foster mom has this to say about him & Rascal:

Buster and Rascal are very gentle, so they would do well with the children. Buster is a bit shy, Rascal is the outgoing one. They do have a large running space and use it all. They enjoy their time next to each other, their time in their separate favorite places, and chasing each other jumping over each other looking like they are doing a coordinated dance routine. Rascal loves to do binkies. Buster is more laid back and enjoys laying on and moving around his "blanket" that is his own. They have excellent litter habits. They are good eaters, especially enjoying their salads and an abundant amount of hay. They also love their Oxbow treat every morning. It's their morning cup of coffee.

Can you provide these boys a home where they will be loved?

Clover is one lucky bunny. He was released to the wild to fend for himself in a park and was captured by a good samaritan and her family! He was named Clover because they found a 4 leaf clover when catching him. Clover is being fostered in Warsaw IN.

Clover is very curious and energetic, yet likes to kick back when it is time to rest. He very affectionate, hopping onto your lap if you sit on the floor. While he loves to snuggle on the floor, Clover is still nervous when being picked up and has to be handled with care. His litter box habits are coming along nicely! He was neutered Aug 3rd and is doing great!

Connie was part of the February/March 2017 dump of rabbits to fend for themselves in a local city park. She's an energetic young lady with lots of personality. Connie was spayed and has a clean bill of health. She's somewhat skiddish and can startle easily, but she is so curious that she comes back out quickly to see what's going on. Her skiddishness is completely expected given her previous experiences. She gets more and more comfortable each day.

During salad-making time, she plays a game of "beg for some lettuce" while her foster care provider is preparing salads. She loves her treats and will even take them from her foster care provider's mouth! She absolutely loves her pellets, demolishes her salads, and will eat all the hay in the world. She is a cautious explorer who likes to run but also learns about her environment with a bit of reserve.

Connie loves to be pet and she's learning more and more each day that the humans in her life from here forward are only here to love and support her and no longer bring her any harm. Connie may like a husbun if she finds the right mate.

Can you give Connie the promise of a loving and safe forever home where she can bunny all day and all night?

A good Samaritan contacted local Animal Care to report 2 buns who were dumped in a residential neighborhood to fend for themselves against predation, starvation and the other dangers that lie in wait. IHRS was contacted to help wrangle the two and we are grateful to be able to have done so. When rescued, Eaton had numerous injuries that resulted from being attacked by a predator. His ear had almost fallen off, he had multiple abscesses and infections. IHRS immediately sprung to action to give him the immediate medical care that he needed to get him stabilized.

Eaton needs more surgeries and medical intervention to get him healthy and stable. Please stay tuned for more updates. If you can contribute to Eaton's medical expenses, he would be very hoppy you did. https://www.gofundme.com/ihrs-emergency-rescue-fund

Eaton is a sweet, sweet boy who is very glad to be in a safe and caring environment where he has a chance to thrive and be loved. Can you love him as much as we do?

Heidi is a wonderful bunny that was found by an animal control organization as a baby. Two years later she still had not found a home and we sprung her from the shelter. She was adopted and lived with a great family but they moved to another country and were unable to take her, so she came back into rescue.

Heidi is friendly, social, curious, polite, well-mannered and mellow. She enjoys being pet and loves her treats! She's used to being in a home with dogs and would be good around children. She can startle easily around new sights and sounds, so she needs to be allowed space and time to acclimate. This isn't much different from most buns, however. Heidi is also a great bonding candidate who would make a great mate to a lucky husbun.

Can you provide Heidi a forever home where she can be loved and appreciated for the amazing bunny she is?

Isabelle was one of hundreds of rabbits allowed to run free on someone's property. While the person meant well, the bunnies were subject to predators, weather (including Indiana winter), illness, fighting with each other, and hunger... not to mention making more rabbits the whole time and new rabbits being dumped by other local residents. When the property owner passed away, a whole lot of bunnies were left with no real caretaker. Neighbors threw out bread from a local sandwich shop as the rabbits' main source of food and by spring of 2015, about 25 rabbits remained.

Isabelle is one of the many bunnies IHRS captured from this group, pregnant and hungry when she came into rescue. Oh Isabelle... she's quite a character! Do you want an athletic rabbit who runs to greet you? Can you bunnyproof like crazy? Isabelle is very vertical and loves to jump up and out to explore. (Her foster home keeps her in an XL dog crate when not home, and puts a sheet clipped over her exercise pen play space to keep her in while she does her running about.) Isabelle will hop on your back if you are bent down in her play area - she uses you as a springboard to get somewhere else up high! She would make a great agility candidate or just a great source of entertainment. :) She enjoys petting and LOVES attention but doesn't always hold still for much of it. We've got her all fixed up from her illnesses and spayed now - Isabelle is clamoring to meet you!

Because Isabelle is high energy and high strung, she will need a calm home that can offer her lots of exercise and patience. She is not recommended around children.

Juliana was part of the February/March 2017 dump of rabbits to fend for themselves in a local city park. When she was first rescued, she was extremely shy and untrusting of humans. Given her previous experience with them, that is totally expected and warranted. Early on, she wouldn't even eat when a human was in the room with her. Fast forward a few months and she takes treats and greens from her foster care provider's hand every day. She is still shy and can be easily startled, but she is getting more and more comfortable now that she's learning that she has a safe and nurturing environment.

When Juliana gets run time, she's a cautious explorer. She will come up to you and say hi, but she's also very interested in exploring her surroundings. In her free time, Juliana likes to rearrange the molecules in cardboard. Juliana may do well with a husbun if she finds the right mate.

Can you provide this flower a loving and safe forever home where she can blossom to her full potential?

Hi! I'm Leonard, and I'm glad to be in rescue with such a kind foster family! I was running loose in a residential neighborhood trying to find shelter from the weather, predators and food and water. I'm very social and friendly. I love to explore and be a part of the family. I also like making people laugh.

I want to be part of your family. I'd be a good free-roam candidate. I'd be good for families with children and/or for first-time adopters. I also live with kitties and that's no problem. I might also like to find a mate some day, but I haven't met anyone yet.

Can I come home with you?

Ludwig was found outside a business just before a rain storm. He has a sweet, timid personality and likes to snuggle. His fuzzy, medium-length fur will require regular combing and he is albino and "scans," though this is not a concerning health issue, just a quirk! More information on scanning behavior here: http://thebunnyguy.com/wordpress/red-eyes-eye-scanning-rabbit-vision/

Ludwig is being fostered in Fort Wayne. Might you be able to provide this sweet guy a great forever home?

Mancala, Marla's baby #5, was born Labor Day 2014. She was a Mini-Me of mama - white with gray spots and racing stripe - and had helicopter ears for awhile but now has uppy ears.

Mancala has a fun spirit and likes to play and cause a ruckus. She is ready for adoption with her sister Jenga. The girls are rather shy - they need an understanding home who will let them be bunnies. Mancala is more outgoing and will accept pets. They love to hang out all day and beg for snacks! Are you ready to give these siblings their forever home? They'll do a Bunny 500 every morning for you about 6 a.m. :)

Poor Marla was dumped with over 25 other rabbits in an industrial area of Indianapolis. Animal Care and Control captured about twenty who survived the road and she came to IN HRS rescue when we determined she was pregnant. Marla gave birth on Labor Day, three days after she came to IHRS.

Marla is bonded to her daughter Kerplunk. They are both very shy rabbits.

Can you give Marla the forever home she deserves, where she is valued for her own self and not just one among a warren of neglected rabbits? Marla would like to learn she is a special and loved companion!

Maru was pulled from an Indiana shelter because he was in need of immediate and intense medical intervention to give him a chance to survive and thrive.

Maru has some serious health issues and has some level of disability due to his condition. He has some upcoming medical procedures that he needs to continue to help him stabilize and be given the opportunity to be a bunny and do bunny things. He has made remarkable progress after coming into rescue. His first week left us very uncertain as to whether or not he was going to be able to survive his condition.

He's now starting to do rabbity things and showing his personality. We are working to get him more comfortable and get him on the road to healing.

We are not certain when Maru will be well enough to be available for adoption. Please stay tuned for updates. If you can contribute to Maru's medical expenses, he would love you to the moon and back if you did. https://www.gofundme.com/ihrs-emergency-rescue-fund

Hi. I'm Owen. I have a tattoo in my ear that says "Zin," but I don't like that name anymore. It reminds me of my past and since coming to IHRS, I am a new bunny!

I used to be in a tiny cage housed in bad conditions. When I was rescued, I was very sick and wasn't sure if I was going to make it. A team of donors, volunteers and vets rallied to support me and I pulled through! I'm neutered and on the mend, though as I write this, I still have some sniffles that I'm being treated for. I'm also on a special diet to help me continue to get and stay healthy and happy.

I'm very friendly and social. I love to be pet and am VERY interested in you and what you are doing. I'd be good with children (as long as they are careful of my fragile small body). I might even want a female mate some day. I have good litterbox habits and am quite tidy and non-destructive. I'm training to be a free-range bunny some day! Yay!

I'd be good for first-time bunny owners as long as I'm all well when adopted. If not, I will need someone with prior experience to keep a good eye on me and support me. I have a chronic respiratory condition that needs to be monitored and treated from time to time. IHRS is working with the best vets in the state to try to help me get rid of it and be fully healthy, but it hasn't been 100% successful yet despite valiant efforts.

Can I come home with you?

** ADOPTION PENDING **

Pat is new to IHRS, he was confiscated in Duncan OK. He grew into those big feet and ears has become one BIG boy! Pat is learning that toys are fun and that he can to do binkies! They are not very graceful, but he does get some significant air =:3.

Pat likes to be around people, but he's also independent has has his own way in the world. He likes being out and about and will even hop up on the couch and give you the honor of petting him while you watch TV or read a book. He's been around cats and other rabbits, but we're not yet sure whether or not he wants a mate.

Pat is a big bun with a big personality. He'd do best in a home with prior rabbit experience who'd appreciate him and honor him for his Pat-ness!

Hello there!

I'm Phoebe. I've been at hotel IHRS for a while now and I'm starting to figure out who I am. My previous guardians didn't want me anymore, so they let me go in a field behind a restaurant in Mooresville, IN. Even after all that, I have a clean bill of health and feel great! I am a tough cookie, so I survived, but let me tell you it was not easy.

I'm thankful that the IHRS rescued me from the dangers that surrounded me and provided me a warm place to live, good food, keep me healthy and make friends with me. Sometimes, however, I miss the wide-open spaces that I had. I'm independent. I want space ... as much as you can give me! I can take care of myself and I've done it before, but I'm glad that I don't have to anymore. I like attention from my hoomans but I'm still working on trust issues. I don't know if I suffered trauma from my last hoomans or just turned a little wild after being out on my own. I'm still working through that with my therapist, lol.

I'm curious and playful. I also like to climb up on things. I have good litter box habits, but I always want a litter box nearby. A girl should have to go to far to go to the bathroom, you know? Sometimes I like to be pet, but I have to be in the mood. That may change if I get to spend more and more time with you (and give me Oxbow cookies). I'm very cute (and I know it) and I like to make you laugh. I'm not sure if I'll ever be a lap bunny though. And I'm not really sure about bunking with another rabbit. It would take a very special one to be my roommate -- one who won't cramp my style. I'd probably like it better to have my own space.

So what do you think? Do you have what it takes to earn my trust? It might take awhile, but it will be super rewarding when you earn it, I promise you that!

Polly was set free as a baby to fend for herself on the east side of Indianapolis. A nice person caught her and got her to rescue. Polly is still small and growing up, but was recently spayed and is ready for adoption. She's very friendly and busy and would probably be good for any kind of adopter, however she will need bunny proofing and supervision because she can get herself into trouble due to her curiosity!

Polly has recovered from having a cuterebra (botfly larva) in her face - a risk rabbits face when they are set free outdoors. Fortunately Polly had no permanent damage from this horrible condition and she's still very friendly with everyone and loves petting.

Poppie is a very young bunny who was left to fend for herself against predation and starvation in a residential neighborhood. Luckily for her, she found her way onto the property of an animal lover who helped provide her sustanance and safety and called IHRS for help.

Poppie is extremely friendly and social and has a bundle of youthful energy!

She still has a while to wait before she's old enough to be able to undergo spay surgery and then be adopted. Please stay tuned for updates or let us know if you're interested in a wonderful, young bunny once she's ready to be adopted.

Rubik, Marla's baby #2, was born Labor Day. He is albino and has uppy ears, but when he was a baby the left one flopped!

Rubik grew up fast and has only known the life of a pampered house rabbit, lucky boy. He starts out shy but once he knows you, he loves to come see what people are doing and wants to be petted (and beg for treats!). He also races and jumps, chomps his toys, and stretches out for great naps.

Rubik is quite good with his litterbox and is just waiting for his forever family - and a nice big area to test his binky skills. He might be a good companion for a single girl bunny as well.

Hey ya!

I'm Tait. I'm bonded to my wife, Wynne. We've been married since early 2017 and we love each other. We joke around a play and sometimes "have words," but we have a strong bond and love each other very much. I love to spend time with her, lay next to her and groom each other. Wynne is the more dominant one in the relationships, so I just let her go first. She's a little more social than I am, but I like my pets when I'm in the mood.

We love each other so much that we will need to be adopted together.

We have good litterbox habits, love our pellets and salads, and are great hay eaters! We will also gladly take as many treats as you'll give us. We even beg! But our foster dad says we can't have many treats. Boo!

We are a social and friendly pair. We used to be in a family with children so we're used to that. We've also been around dogs. We'd be good for first-time adopters as well. We really want to be part of a family. We also want lots of out time and a big enclosure. We are fun for all!

Can we come home with you?

Tank is a big guy looking for cuddles! He came into rescue from a southern Indiana shelter after he and ten of his friends were confiscated by local police. Tank has had a rough life and has needed a little time to slim down and clean up. He was recently neutered and will soon be ready for adoption.

Tank is a big sweetie who loves pets and enjoys being in the middle of the action - people and dogs around, no problem! He would love a spot in the living room to hang out with you there all the time. Because he is gentle and friendly, he would be a good rabbit for a first time adopter or just anyone who likes big squishy bunnies.
